NEOLINOLEUMS

This series came out of a workshop given by painter Noah Saterstrom at the Mississippi Art Colony.  All pieces are monotypes that are subsequently overlaid with colored pencil, collage, and paint, then adhered to 12" square linoleum tiles and coated in intentionally thick and irregular epoxy finish.  They attempt to capture the memory's unique qualities of being simultaneously sharp and fuzzy, accurate and fabricated, and dispassionate and emotional.
